Squiz Matrix Newsletter #387
20 JulOn the 20th of July, 1969, the crew of the Apollo 11 became the first men to land on the moon when their lunar module Eagle touched down on the surface. It was then, after about six hours later (July 21st), that Neil Armstrong uttered that unforgettable phrase, 'That's one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind'.

Apollo 11 was launched into space on July 16th and took just over three days to enter into lunar orbit around the moon. After their lunar module had landed, Armstrong and Aldrin spent approx two and a half hours on the moon's surface. Before departing, they left a variety of mementos including a patch from Apollo 1, which had ended in disaster when the crew died in a cabin fire during a training mission. Also left were a gold olive branch, a symbol of peace, and silicon message disc containing goodwill messages from 73 world leaders.
Like those brave astronauts of the Apollo 11 spaceflight, we at Squiz Labs aim for the moon in all of our endeavors and this week has been no different! We have four new features and enhancements to report this week, including new options to configure the From and Reply-To email address in workflow notification emails. Continue reading below for more information on all this week's developments.
Set From and Reply-To Email Addresses on Workflow Notifications
Due for release in versions 4.8.4 and 4.10.1 (August 6th 2012)
When workflow is running on an asset, Squiz Matrix will send a number of notification emails to users to update them on the status of the approval process. These emails will notify users on a variety of different occasions, for example, if their approval is required on an asset or when a workflow step is approved or rejected.
Previously, while the content of these emails were configurable (via the Custom Messages screen), the From and Reply-To email addresses on these notifications were not. This feature introduces the ability to set the From and Reply-To values for workflow emails.

The Email to be Sent From and Email to Reply-To fields can be configured on the Details screen of a Workflow Schema. The values entered into these fields will override the default values used by Squiz Matrix, i.e. the email address of the user who triggered the workflow changes.
This feature provides greater configuration for workflow emails within Squiz Matrix, providing accurate address information to your receiving users.
Asset Map: Improved End of File Error Reporting
Due for release in versions 4.8.4 and 4.10.1 (August 6th 2012)
When a user has read access on an asset which is below an asset they do not have permission to access in the asset lineage, Squiz Matrix will display an End of File error message when the user tries to access the asset.
Previously, this was presented to users as a generic error message, as follows:
Error: Could not load children: error while parsing : Premature end of file.
This enhancement modifies this error message to provide additional and more accurate information, including the asset ID of the asset that the user was attempting to access. An example of this modification is as follows:
Error: Could not load children: error while getting response: Permission Denied. Could not load child assets for asset About Us (#1234) [AMAP0047]
This enhancement has been added to provide users with more error information, to easily address and resolve any issues within their system.
HTML Tidy Indicators on WYSIWYG Metadata Field and Attribute Types
Due for release in version 4.10.1 (August 6th 2012)
Squiz Matrix's WYSIWYG HTML Tidy tool evaluates and generates clean XHTML/HTML page content. The usage of this tool is displayed to users via HTML Tidy icon indicators, as shown in the figure below.

Previously, however, these indicators were not displayed on Metadata WYSIWYG Field assets and other WYSIWYG attribute types (such as the Summary and Body attributes on a News Item asset). While HTML Tidy was still evaluating and cleaning content, its status was not being displayed in the back-end.
This enhancement addresses this issue, adding these indicators to all WYSIWYG attribute types within Squiz Matrix (including the Metadata WYSIWYG Field).
Link Value Filtering on the What's New Page
Due for release in version 4.10.1 (August 6th 2012)
The Asset Listing Page asset's Link Value Filtering options allow you to filter listed assets by a configured link value. This value, configured on the Linking Screen of an asset, can be checked against a set Link Value on the listing's settings (either matching or not matching) to determine whether an asset should be listed.

For example, image assets within your site can be configured with link values such as landscape or portrait. The Link Value Filtering options allow you to create an asset listing that will only display landscape images by setting the Link Value Filtering Logic to match the landscape link value.
Previously, this functionality was restricted to the Asset Listing Page asset only. This feature extends this functionality for use on a What's New Page asset, providing you more configuration options for your What's New listing.
