Squiz Matrix Newsletter #398
05 OctAs has become a tradition on this blog, Squiz Labs has gone pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month!

During the month of October, the Australian National Breast Cancer Foundation invites supporters to host their own Pink Ribbon Breakfast (or similar event) to raise vital funds for breast cancer research.
Last year, Labs hosted our own Pink Ribbon Morning Tea, raising over $500 for this amazing cause that is so close to many of our hearts. This year we hope to go that one step further!
Today, we have hosted our own Pink Ribbon Lunch, with co-workers, family and friends. We have been thrilled at the charity and kindness of all those who attended, managing to raise over $1000 so far!
Of course, it is never too late to donate to this wonderful cause; if you would like to show your support, you can do so on our Fundraising Page (all money received goes directly to the NBCF). Alternatively, you can make a donation directly through the NBCF website. Thank you.

This week we have 2 new features to report, including new context syncronisation on the JavaScript API. Continue reading below for more information on all this week's developments.
Context Synchronisation on the JavaScript API
Due for release in version 4.12.0 (November 5th 2012)
Previously, if your system was set to a context other than the Default Context, changes made on the frontend using JS API calls would not respect the set context. This was because the JS API did not correctly synchronise with context changes on the backend.
This feature introduces new context synchronisation on the JavaScript API, allowing you to enable context aware functionality from the API's operations. This option is set via a new Sync Context field on the Details screen of the JS API.
This feature has been added to support upcoming context functionality for Edit+ for Squiz Matrix.
Folder Linking Under Data Record Assets
Due for release in versions 4.12.0 (November 5th 2012)
This new enhancement enables the linking of folder assets underneath Data Records within Squiz Matrix. Previously, Data Record asset types did not allow assets to be directly linked beneath them.
This enhancement has been added to facilitate for specific implementations that utilise Data Records and would benefit from this addition.
